يا كِتابي إذا بَلَغْتَ مَحَلاًّ

يا كِتابي إذا بَلَغْتَ مَحَلاًّ

فيهِ غَيْثُ النّدى وغَوْثُ الرّاجي

فيهِ غَيْثُ النّدى وغَوْثُ الرّاجي

O my letter, when you reach an abode

where dwell the rain of bounty and the succor of the hopeful,

فَلْتُقَبِّلْ عنّي بغَيْرِ تَوانٍ

فَلْتُقَبِّلْ عنّي بغَيْرِ تَوانٍ

كَفَّ موْلَى الوَرى أبي الحَجّاجِ

كَفَّ موْلَى الوَرى أبي الحَجّاجِ

then kiss on my behalf, without delay,

the hand of the lord of humankind, Abu al-Hajjaj.
