I hope for your favor and take refuge in your protection.

Seeking your pleasure, under your protection

أنا طامع بالجود منك ولم يكن

أنا طامع بالجود منك ولم يكن

لابن الخطيب من الأنام سواكا

لابن الخطيب من الأنام سواكا

I hope for generosity from you, and there has been no one

I long for your generosity, for none

For Ibn al-Khatib among humankind but you.

But you can provide for the son of Al-Khatib
