يَاO حَفِيدَgrandson of الْوَلِيِّthe saint يَاوَارِثَO heir to الفَخْthe glory (begins here)
يَا حَفِيدَ الْوَلِيِّ يَاوَارِثَ الفَخْ
رِالَّذِي(completes 'glory') that نَالَhe attained فِيin مَقَامٍa spiritual station وَحَالِand a spiritual state
رِالَّذِي نَالَ فِي مَقَامٍ وَحَالِ
O grandson of the saint, O heir to the glory
that he attained in spiritual station and state.
لَكَfor you يَاO أَحْمَدُAhmad بْنُson of يُوسُفَYusuf جُبْنَاwe traversed
لَكَ يَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ جُبْنَا
كُلَّevery قَفْرٍwilderness يُعْيِيwearies أكُفَّthe palms of الرِّحَالِthe saddles
كُلَّ قَفْرٍ يُعْيِي أكُفَّ الرِّحَالِ
For you, O Ahmad son of Yusuf, we traversed
every wilderness that wearies the palms of the saddles.
