أموْلايَ اسْتَزِدْ بالشُّكْرِ صُنْعا

أموْلايَ اسْتَزِدْ بالشُّكْرِ صُنْعا

فقَدْ وعَدَ المَزيدَ اللّهُ بعْدَهْ

فقَدْ وعَدَ المَزيدَ اللّهُ بعْدَهْ

My lord, seek still more favor through gratitude.

For God has promised an increase after it.

أبَحْتَ ذِمارَ مَنْ ناواكَ لمّا

أبَحْتَ ذِمارَ مَنْ ناواكَ لمّا

نَوَيْتَ جِهادَهُ وقَصَدْتَ قَصْدَهْ

نَوَيْتَ جِهادَهُ وقَصَدْتَ قَصْدَهْ

You exposed the protected honor of the one who opposed you when

you resolved to fight him and set out to confront him.

وما كانَ الذِّمارُ بمُسْتَباحٍ

وما كانَ الذِّمارُ بمُسْتَباحٍ

ولكنَّ العَزيزَ أعَزَّ عَبْدَهْ

ولكنَّ العَزيزَ أعَزَّ عَبْدَهْ

Yet that protected honor was not open to violation;

rather, the Mighty One gave strength to His servant.
