مَوْلاَيَ هَا أَنا فِي جِوَارِ أَبِيكَا

مَوْلاَيَ هَا أَنا فِي جِوَارِ أَبِيكَا

فَابْذُلْ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الْمُقَدَّرِ فِيكَا

فَابْذُلْ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الْمُقَدَّرِ فِيكَا

My lord, here I am beside your father.

My Master, here I am in the vicinity of your father

So bestow some of the kindness ordained in you.

So grant from the ordained kindness that lies in you

أَسْمِعْهُ مَا يُرْضِيهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الثَّرَى

أَسْمِعْهُ مَا يُرْضِيهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الثَّرَى

وَاللهُ يُسْمِعُكَ الَّذِي يُرْضِيكَا

وَاللهُ يُسْمِعُكَ الَّذِي يُرْضِيكَا

Let him, beneath the earth, hear what pleases him,

Let him hear what pleases him beneath the soil

And God will let you hear what pleases you.

And Allah will let you hear what pleases you

وَاجْعَلْ رِضَاهُ إِذَا نَهَدْتَ كتِيبَةً

وَاجْعَلْ رِضَاهُ إِذَا نَهَدْتَ كتِيبَةً

تُهْدِي إِلَيْكَ النَّصْرَ أَوْ تَهْدِيكَا

تُهْدِي إِلَيْكَ النَّصْرَ أَوْ تَهْدِيكَا

And make his approval, when you march forth, a battalion

And make his approval, when you lead a battalion

That brings you victory or guides you.

Bring you victory or guide you

وَاجْبُرْ بِجَبْرِي قَلْبَهُ تَنَلِ الْمُنَى

وَاجْبُرْ بِجَبْرِي قَلْبَهُ تَنَلِ الْمُنَى

وَتُطَالِعْ الْفَتْحَ الْمُبِينَ وَشِيكَا

وَتُطَالِعْ الْفَتْحَ الْمُبِينَ وَشِيكَا

And comfort his heart by relieving me; you will attain your wishes,

And mend with my mending his heart to attain wishes

And soon behold manifest victory.

And behold the manifest opening which is near

فَهُوَ الَّذِي سَنَّ الْبُرُورَ بِأُمَّهِ

فَهُوَ الَّذِي سَنَّ الْبُرُورَ بِأُمَّهِ

وَأَبِيهِ فَاشْرعْ شَرْعَهُ لِبَنِيكَا

وَأَبِيهِ فَاشْرعْ شَرْعَهُ لِبَنِيكَا

For he established the practice of dutiful kindness toward his mother

For he was the one who legislated kindness to his mother

And his father; so prescribe his rule for your sons.

And father so follow his way with your sons

وَابْعَثْ رَسُولَكَ مُنْذِراً وَمُحَذِّراً

وَابْعَثْ رَسُولَكَ مُنْذِراً وَمُحَذِّراً

وَبِمَا تُؤَمَّلُ نَيْلَهُ يَأْتِيكَا

وَبِمَا تُؤَمَّلُ نَيْلَهُ يَأْتِيكَا

And send your messenger, warning and cautioning,

And send your messenger warning and cautioning

And he will bring you what you hope to attain.

And with what you hope to attain he will come to you

قّدْ هَزَّ عَزْمُكَ كُلَّ قُطْرٍ نَازِحٍ

قّدْ هَزَّ عَزْمُكَ كُلَّ قُطْرٍ نَازِحٍ

وَأَخَافَ مَمْلُوكاً بِهِ وَمَلِيكَا

وَأَخَافَ مَمْلُوكاً بِهِ وَمَلِيكَا

Your resolve has shaken every distant land,

Your resolve has shaken every retreating region

And frightened slave and king alike within it.

And frightened a slave in it and a king

فَإِذَا سَمَوْتَ إِلَى مَرَامٍ شَاسِعٍ

فَإِذَا سَمَوْتَ إِلَى مَرَامٍ شَاسِعٍ

فَغُصُونُهُ ثَمَرَ الْمُنَى تَجْنِيكَا

فَغُصُونُهُ ثَمَرَ الْمُنَى تَجْنِيكَا

So when you rise toward a distant goal,

So when you rise to a vast purpose

Then its branches will gather for you the fruit of your wishes.

Its branches will bear the fruits of wishes for you

ضَمِنَتْ رَجَاءُ اللهِ مِنْكَ مَطَالِبِي

ضَمِنَتْ رَجَاءُ اللهِ مِنْكَ مَطَالِبِي

لَمَّا جَعَلْتُكَ فِي الثَّوابِ شَرِيكَا

لَمَّا جَعَلْتُكَ فِي الثَّوابِ شَرِيكَا

My requests of you carry hope in God,

The hopes in Allah from you guaranteed my requests

Since I made you a partner in the reward.

When I made you a partner in the reward

فَلَئِنْ كَفَيْتَ وُجُوهَهَا فِي مَقْصَدِي

فَلَئِنْ كَفَيْتَ وُجُوهَهَا فِي مَقْصَدِي

وَرَعَيْتَهَا بَرَكَاتُهَا تَكْفِيكَا

وَرَعَيْتَهَا بَرَكَاتُهَا تَكْفِيكَا

So if you meet their requirements in my endeavor

So if you sufficed their aspects in my pursuit

And tend to them, their blessings will suffice for you.

And herded them, her blessings will suffice you

وَإِذَا قَضَيْتَ حَوَائِجِي وَأَرَيْتَنِي

وَإِذَا قَضَيْتَ حَوَائِجِي وَأَرَيْتَنِي

أَمَلاً فَرَبُّكَ مَا أَرَدْتَ يُرِيكَا

أَمَلاً فَرَبُّكَ مَا أَرَدْتَ يُرِيكَا

And if you fulfill my needs and show me

And when you fulfilled my needs and saw me

Some hope, then your Lord will show you what you desire.

Hopeful, then your Lord will show you what you desired

وَاشْدُدْ عَلَى قَوْلِي يَداً فَهُوَ الَّذِي

وَاشْدُدْ عَلَى قَوْلِي يَداً فَهُوَ الَّذِي

بُرْهَانُهُ لاَ يَقْبَلُ التَّشْكِيكَا

بُرْهَانُهُ لاَ يَقْبَلُ التَّشْكِيكَا

And hold my saying firmly in hand, for it is one

And take strongly my word for it is He whose

Whose proof admits no doubt.

Proof cannot be doubted

مَوْلاَيَ مَا اسْتَأْثَرْتُ عَنْكَ بِمُهْجِتِي

مَوْلاَيَ مَا اسْتَأْثَرْتُ عَنْكَ بِمُهْجِتِي

أَنَّى وَمُهْجَتِي الَّتِي تَفْدِيكَا

أَنَّى وَمُهْجَتِي الَّتِي تَفْدِيكَا

My lord, I have not withheld my life's blood from you.

My Master, I did not monopolize my love from you

How could I, when my life's blood ransoms you?

How could I when my love redeems you

لَكِنْ رَأَيْتُ جَنَابَ شَالَّة مَغْنَماً

لَكِنْ رَأَيْتُ جَنَابَ شَالَّة مَغْنَماً

يُضْفِي عَلَيَّ الْعِزَّ فِي نَادِيكَا

يُضْفِي عَلَيَّ الْعِزَّ فِي نَادِيكَا

But I saw the precincts of Shalla as a prize

But I saw the side of glory bring me honor

That bestows honor upon me in your assembly.

In your family

وَفُروضُ حَقّكَ لاَ تَفُوتُ فَوَقْتُهَا

وَفُروضُ حَقّكَ لاَ تَفُوتُ فَوَقْتُهَا

بَاقٍ إِذَا اسْجْزَيْتَهُ يَجْزِيكَا

بَاقٍ إِذَا اسْجْزَيْتَهُ يَجْزِيكَا

And the duties owed you do not lapse, for their time

And your rights are not missed, I awaited them

Remains; if you seek its recompense, it will repay you.

Remaining when you reward them they reward you

وَوَعَدْتَنِي وَتَكَرَّرَ الْوَعْدُ الَّذِي

وَوَعَدْتَنِي وَتَكَرَّرَ الْوَعْدُ الَّذِي

أَبَتِ الْمَكَارِمُ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَفيكَا

أَبَتِ الْمَكَارِمُ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَفيكَا

And you promised me; repeated was the promise which

And you promised me and the promise was repeated that

Noble virtues refused to allow to be false.

The generous refused to be untrue in you

بِبَقَائِكَ الدُّنْيَا تُحَاطُ وَأَهْلُهَا

بِبَقَائِكَ الدُّنْيَا تُحَاطُ وَأَهْلُهَا

فَاللهُ جَلَّ جَلاَلُهُ يُبْقِيكَا

فَاللهُ جَلَّ جَلاَلُهُ يُبْقِيكَا

By your continued life, the world and its people are protected;

With your survival, the world is surrounded and its people

So may God—exalted be His majesty—preserve you.

So Allah, majestic is His majesty, keeps you
