فُؤَادِيَmy heart مَأَمُورٌunder command وَلَحْظُكَand your glance آمِرُone who commands
فُؤَادِيَ مَأَمُورٌ وَلَحْظُكَ آمِرُ
وَطَاعَةُand obedience رَبِّthe master of الأَمْرِcommand فِيamong النَّاسِpeople وَاجِبُa duty
وَطَاعَةُ رَبِّ الأَمْرِ فِي النَّاسِ وَاجِبُ
My heart is under command, and your glance commands;
My heart is commanded and your glance is the commander
And among people, obedience to the one in command is a duty.
And obeying the Lord of command is obligatory among people
وَأيّدَand was reinforced ذَاكَthat اللَّحْظُglance مِنْكَfrom you بِحَاجِبِby an eyebrow/chamberlain
وَأيّدَ ذَاكَ اللَّحْظُ مِنْكَ بِحَاجِبِ
وَيَقْبُحُand it is shameful أَنْto يُعْصَىbe disobeyed أَمِيرٌa prince وَحَاجِبُand a chamberlain/eyebrow
وَيَقْبُحُ أَنْ يُعْصَى أَمِيرٌ وَحَاجِبُ
And that glance of yours was reinforced by an eyebrow;
And that glance of yours is supported by an eyebrow
And it is shameful to disobey a prince and a chamberlain.
And it is ugly for a commander or an eyebrow to be disobeyed
