بِشَيْبَةٍover a gray hair عَافَهَاloathed it الْعِيَانْsight
My companion spent the night with a slight worry,
Over a gray hair that sight found repulsive.
وَقُلْتُand I said مَاwhat هَذِهِthese الْبَوَادِيthe emerging signs
فَقَالَso he said لِيto me شِخْتَyou have grown old يَافُلاَنْO so-and-so
And I said, “What are these emerging signs?”
So he said to me, “You have grown old, so-and-so.”
