Life is too brief to be seen
spent in sorrow and redoubled grief.
وإذاand if قطَعْتَyou spent زَمانَهُits time فيin كُرْبَةٍdistress

And if you spend its span in distress,
you squander amid illusions what will not return.

So be content with what your life has given you, and seize
joy from it, and leave aside what does not satisfy.
