هوَ النّصرُ بادٍ للعُيونِ صَباحُهُ

هوَ النّصرُ بادٍ للعُيونِ صَباحُهُ

فمَا عُذْرُ صَدْرٍ ليْسَ يَبْدو انْشِراحُهُ

فمَا عُذْرُ صَدْرٍ ليْسَ يَبْدو انْشِراحُهُ

It is victory: its morning shines before the eyes.

What excuse has a heart whose joy does not show?

حَديثٌ تَهاداهُ الرّكائِبُ في السّرَى

حَديثٌ تَهاداهُ الرّكائِبُ في السّرَى

وتُجْلَى علَى راحِ المسَرّةِ راحُهُ

وتُجْلَى علَى راحِ المسَرّةِ راحُهُ

News carried from rider to rider through the night,

Its wine is poured into the palm of delight.

وآيَةُ بُشْرى هَزّ مِعْطَفَهُ الهُدَى

وآيَةُ بُشْرى هَزّ مِعْطَفَهُ الهُدَى

لَها وتَبَدّى للزّمانِ ارتيَاحُهُ

لَها وتَبَدّى للزّمانِ ارتيَاحُهُ

A sign of glad tidings, for which guidance stirred its robe,

And time itself showed its relief.

وأصْبَحَ دينُ اللهِ قدْ عَزّ جارُهُ

وأصْبَحَ دينُ اللهِ قدْ عَزّ جارُهُ

بمَوْقِعِه والكُفْرُ هِيضَ جَناحُهُ

بمَوْقِعِه والكُفْرُ هِيضَ جَناحُهُ

The faith of God has grown strong; those under its protection are secure

Through his victory, while unbelief has had its wing broken.

وآثارُ مَلْكٍ ظاهِرِ الفَضْلِ لمْ يزَلْ

وآثارُ مَلْكٍ ظاهِرِ الفَضْلِ لمْ يزَلْ

يُشَفَّعُ فِينا هَدْيُهُ وصَلاحُهُ

يُشَفَّعُ فِينا هَدْيُهُ وصَلاحُهُ

These are the works of a king whose merit is plain;

His guidance and goodness have never ceased to intercede for us.

إذا دَهَمَ الرَّوْعُ استَقَلّ دِفاعُهُ

إذا دَهَمَ الرَّوْعُ استَقَلّ دِفاعُهُ

وإنْ أخْلَفَ الغَيْثُ استهَلّ سَماحُهُ

وإنْ أخْلَفَ الغَيْثُ استهَلّ سَماحُهُ

When terror strikes, his defense rises to meet it;

And when rain fails, his generosity pours forth.

بيوسُفَ لاحَ الحَقُّ أبْلَجَ واضِحاً

بيوسُفَ لاحَ الحَقُّ أبْلَجَ واضِحاً

وأصْبَحَ دينُ اللهِ فازَتْ قِداحُهُ

وأصْبَحَ دينُ اللهِ فازَتْ قِداحُهُ

Through Yusuf, truth shone bright and clear,

And the faith of God saw its lot prevail.

يقَصِّرُ نَفْحُ الطّيبِ عنْ طِيبِ ذِكْرِهِ

يقَصِّرُ نَفْحُ الطّيبِ عنْ طِيبِ ذِكْرِهِ

ويُزْري بأزهارِ الرِّياضِ امْتِداحُهُ

ويُزْري بأزهارِ الرِّياضِ امْتِداحُهُ

The scent of perfume falls short of his fragrant renown,

And praise of him outshines the flowers of gardens.

تلافَيْتَ بالعَزْمِ البِلادَ وأهْلَهَا

تلافَيْتَ بالعَزْمِ البِلادَ وأهْلَهَا

وقدْ عَصَفَتْ للكُفْرِ فيها رِياحُهُ

وقدْ عَصَفَتْ للكُفْرِ فيها رِياحُهُ

With resolve, you saved the land and its people

When the winds of unbelief were raging through it.

وحَفّتْ بِهِ الأعْداءُ منْ كلِّ جانِبٍ

وحَفّتْ بِهِ الأعْداءُ منْ كلِّ جانِبٍ

كما حَفّ بالخَصْرِ الهَضيمِ وِشاحُهُ

كما حَفّ بالخَصْرِ الهَضيمِ وِشاحُهُ

Enemies surrounded it on every side,

As a sash encircles a slender waist.

وقُدْتَ إلَيْها الجيْشَ والعَسْكَر الذي

وقُدْتَ إلَيْها الجيْشَ والعَسْكَر الذي

تُرَوّى عَواليهِ وتُرْوَى صِحاحُهُ

تُرَوّى عَواليهِ وتُرْوَى صِحاحُهُ

You led against them the army and the host

Whose spearpoints are drenched and whose true accounts are told.

فدَوّخْتَ ما ضُمّتْ علَيْهِ بلادُهُ

فدَوّخْتَ ما ضُمّتْ علَيْهِ بلادُهُ

ونَفّلْتَ ما زُرّتْ عليْهِ بطاحُهُ

ونَفّلْتَ ما زُرّتْ عليْهِ بطاحُهُ

You subdued all that their lands encompassed

And granted as spoils all that their plains enclosed.

وصَبّحْتَ جَمْعَ الكُفْرِ في مُستقَرِّه

وصَبّحْتَ جَمْعَ الكُفْرِ في مُستقَرِّه

فخابَتْ مَساعِيهِ وساءَ صَباحُهُ

فخابَتْ مَساعِيهِ وساءَ صَباحُهُ

At dawn you fell upon the gathered forces of unbelief in their stronghold;

Their efforts failed, and their morning turned bitter.

فبَيْنَ صَريعٍ بالفَلاةِ مُجَدّلٍ

فبَيْنَ صَريعٍ بالفَلاةِ مُجَدّلٍ

طَريحٍ وعانٍ لا يُرجَّى سَراحُهُ

طَريحٍ وعانٍ لا يُرجَّى سَراحُهُ

Some lay slain and stretched across the open plain;

Others lay fallen or captive, with no release in sight.

ومِنْ بيْنِ مَكْلومٍ بحَدِّ سُيوفِها

ومِنْ بيْنِ مَكْلومٍ بحَدِّ سُيوفِها

تَسيلُ علَى الأعْقابِ منْهُ جِراحُهُ

تَسيلُ علَى الأعْقابِ منْهُ جِراحُهُ

Among them were men wounded by the edges of its swords,

Their wounds bleeding down to their heels.

وأقْبَلَ مَنصورَ اللّواءِ مُؤيَّدا

وأقْبَلَ مَنصورَ اللّواءِ مُؤيَّدا

ذَوابِلُهُ قد ضُرِّجَتْ وصِفاحُهُ

ذَوابِلُهُ قد ضُرِّجَتْ وصِفاحُهُ

And you returned with a victorious banner, supported in triumph;

Your spears and sword blades were stained red.

إذا الخَطْبُ لم يسْمَحْ بفَضْلِ قِيادِهِ

إذا الخَطْبُ لم يسْمَحْ بفَضْلِ قِيادِهِ

ولايَنْتَهُ بالصّبْرِ لانَ جِماحُهُ

ولايَنْتَهُ بالصّبْرِ لانَ جِماحُهُ

If a crisis will not yield to the excellence of your command

And patience cannot restrain it, its defiance grows gentle.

وإنْ أنتَ في روْضِ الجِهادِ غَرَسْتَهُ

وإنْ أنتَ في روْضِ الجِهادِ غَرَسْتَهُ

تَبسّمَ عنْ زَهْرِ الفُتوحِ افتِتاحُهُ

تَبسّمَ عنْ زَهْرِ الفُتوحِ افتِتاحُهُ

And if you plant it in the garden of struggle,

Its beginning smiles with the blossoms of conquest.

ومَهْما استَعَنْتَ اللهَ في الأمر وحْدَهُ

ومَهْما استَعَنْتَ اللهَ في الأمر وحْدَهُ

أتاكَ بهِ منْ كُلِّ أمرٍ نَجاحُهُ

أتاكَ بهِ منْ كُلِّ أمرٍ نَجاحُهُ

Whenever you seek God's help alone in a matter,

Success in every matter comes to you through Him.

فَما ضَلّ مَنْ كانَ الإلهُ دَلِيلُه

فَما ضَلّ مَنْ كانَ الإلهُ دَلِيلُه

وما ذَلّ مَنْ حُسنُ اليَقينِ سِلاحُهُ

وما ذَلّ مَنْ حُسنُ اليَقينِ سِلاحُهُ

Whoever has God as a guide does not go astray;

Whoever has firm conviction as a weapon is not humbled.

فَهُنّيتَهُ صُنْعاً جَميلاً ومَوْرِداً

فَهُنّيتَهُ صُنْعاً جَميلاً ومَوْرِداً

منَ النّصْرِ يَنْدَى في القُلوبِ قَراحُهُ

منَ النّصْرِ يَنْدَى في القُلوبِ قَراحُهُ

So may you be congratulated on a noble deed and a spring

Of victory whose pure water moistens hearts.

ودُمْتَ عَزيزَ الجارِ سَيْفُكَ فاصِلٌ

ودُمْتَ عَزيزَ الجارِ سَيْفُكَ فاصِلٌ

وسَيْبُكَ ممْنوحُ النّوالِ مُباحُهُ

وسَيْبُكَ ممْنوحُ النّوالِ مُباحُهُ

May you remain a mighty protector, your sword decisive,

And your bounty freely bestowed on those who seek it.

ودونَكَها منّي إلَيْكَ بَديهَةً

ودونَكَها منّي إلَيْكَ بَديهَةً

نَتيجةَ حُبٍّ طابَ فيكَ صُراحُهُ

نَتيجةَ حُبٍّ طابَ فيكَ صُراحُهُ

Here, from me to you, is this spontaneous poem,

The fruit of a love for you whose sincerity is pure.
