Indeed, though I am ill,
Worn in strength, plainly emaciated,
بَيْنِيbetween me وَبَيْنَand between الرَّدَىdeath نِزَالٌa struggle
يَقِلُّis infrequent فِيin مِثْلِهِits like نزَالِيmy fighting
Between me and death there is a struggle;
Rarely do I engage in one like it.
فِيin عَارضِcheek التَّيْسِthe he-goat لِيfor me شِفَاءٌa cure
فَكَيْفَthen how فِيin عَارِضِcheek الْغَزَالِthe gazelle
In the he-goat's cheek lies a cure for me;
Then what of the gazelle's cheek?
