لوْif أنّنِيthat I فيكَfor your sake بذَلْتُI lavished الدُّناthe worlds
حَسِبْتُهاI would reckon them كالثّمَنِlike the price البَخْسِpaltry
If I were to lavish the worlds upon you,
If I spent my whole life for you
I would reckon them a paltry price.
I'd count it as the cheapest price

O delight of the eye, may you be spared death
O solace of my eyes protected from harm
From the eyes of jinn and humankind.
From the eyes of heaven and mankind

God be praised for that mind of yours! Whenever it ventures
God granted you a mind that when applied
Into a difficult problem, no ambiguity remains.
To any complex issue, doubt would cease

قامَتْit stood علَىupon أنْمُلِكَyour fingertips الخَمْسِthe five

The law of letters, when it came,
The code of manners, when it came to be
Stood upon your five fingertips.
Stood on your five fingers tall with ease

And what you have imagined is nothing strange:
And it's no wonder you imagined it
The sun is not denied its light.
Light cannot be denied by the sun
