إنْif كانwas يسْقيwaters الأرضَthe earth جَوْدُbounty of غَمامَةٍa cloud
إنْ كان يسْقي الأرضَ جَوْدُ غَمامَةٍ
فأناthen I الذيthe one who أسْقيI water غَمامَclouds of الجُودِbounty
فأنا الذي أسْقي غَمامَ الجُودِ
If a cloud's bounty waters the earth,
If the clouds' generosity waters the land
then I am the one who waters the clouds of bounty.
Then it is I who waters the clouds' generosity

فلَها رُكوعي دائِماً وسُجودي
In Ibn Nasr's face I found a qibla,
I received a kiss from Nasr's son's face
to which I always bow and prostrate myself.
To it belong my perpetual bow and prostration
