I complain to his smiling mouth of the burning, while he has withheld
I complain of his scorching smile though he has withheld
From me his longed-for dusky lips and his nectar.
from me his sought-after sweetness and pleasure.
ياO رِيقَهُhis saliva حيّرْتَنيyou bewildered me ومَطَلْتَنيand you kept me waiting
يا رِيقَهُ حيّرْتَني ومَطَلْتَني
ماnot أنْتَyou إلاbut بارِدٌcold ياO رِيقَهُhis saliva
ما أنْتَ إلا بارِدٌ يا رِيقَهُ
O moisture of his mouth, you have bewildered me and kept me waiting.
Oh his saliva, you have confused me and made me wait long.
You are nothing but cold, O moisture of his mouth.
You are nothing but cold, Oh his saliva!
