He led me to the emir, complaining that I had accosted him—
He went to complain about me to the prince,
Yusuf, with witnesses of his own kind.
Joseph and the witnesses are his own people.

He said to me, “What do you say?” I said in reply:
He said to me, "What do you say?" I replied,
“We feared neither his punishment nor imprisonment at his hands.
"We do not fear his punishment or imprisonment."

The truth has come to light, my lord, so let me be:
The truth has emerged, O betrayer, so leave me be!
I was the one who sought to seduce Yusuf.”
I am the one who tried to seduce Joseph against his will.
