Hardship has indeed vanished, and strain has lifted.

And the lowlands and highlands gave lavish thanks for the rain,

on the morning the south wind swept forth, bringing fertility,

and afterward the rain came in its wake.

Clouds like camel trains: whenever they slackened,

weighed down with heavy loads, thunder shouted at them.

And lightning drove them with its whip, so they sprang forward,

surging across the breadth of the wilderness and racing on.

No sooner had they knelt down and halted to rest

than prosperity made camp, and the promise was fulfilled.

And the merchants of abundance displayed every ware,

to which Sana'a and India concede superiority.

So whatever you wish there of cushions of fine silk

and rich brocade appears atop the dust-gray hills.

    تَقومُ قِيانُ الوُرْقِ منْ فوْقِه تَشْدو

    There are tables for feasts of God's bounty;

above it the singing-maids—the gray doves—stand and sing.

To You be thanks, O All-Merciful, for what You have bestowed

of constant kindness toward us; and to You be praise.
