الشُّكْرُgratitude يَصْغُرُgrows small والهِباتُand the gifts تَزيدُincrease
الشُّكْرُ يَصْغُرُ والهِباتُ تَزيدُ
فمتَىso when يُجيدُdoes well القوْلَspeech فيكَabout you مُجيدُa skilled speaker
فمتَى يُجيدُ القوْلَ فيكَ مُجيدُ
Gratitude grows small while gifts increase.
Gratitude grows small though gifts increase
So when can a master of speech do you justice in words?
When can the eloquent ever praise you enough
ياO مَنْyou who لهُto whom belongs الفخْرُglory البَعيدُfar-reaching علىover الوَرىhumankind
يا مَنْ لهُ الفخْرُ البَعيدُ على الوَرى
إنْif كانَis موْلاناour lord ونحْنُand we عَبيدُslaves
إنْ كانَ موْلانا ونحْنُ عَبيدُ
O you whose far-reaching glory rises above humankind,
O you whose glory is far above all creatures
If you are our lord and we are slaves,
If you are our Master while we are your servants
إنْif كانتِwere الأعْيادُthe feasts قَبْلَكَbefore you دائِماًalways
إنْ كانتِ الأعْيادُ قَبْلَكَ دائِماً
عِيدَيْنِtwo feasts فالدُّنْياthen the world بمُلْكِكَunder your rule عِيدُa feast
عِيدَيْنِ فالدُّنْيا بمُلْكِكَ عِيدُ
If the feasts before you were always
If festivals are ever in your honor
Two, then under your rule the world is a feast.
With your dominion the world is celebration unending
