أَمَلِيmy hope مِنَfrom الدُّنْيَاthis world تَأَتِّيattainment of خَلْوَةٍseclusion
أَمَلِي مِنَ الدُّنْيَا تَأَتِّي خَلْوَةٍ
فِيin مَنْزلٍa dwelling بَادٍin the countryside خَصِيبِfertile الْجَانِبِthe surroundings
فِي مَنْزلٍ بَادٍ خَصِيبِ الْجَانِبِ
My hope in this world is to attain seclusion
In a country dwelling with fertile surroundings,
أُذْكِيI kindle بِهِin it زَنْدَthe firestick of الْقِرَاءَةِreading وَالْقِرَىand hospitality
أُذْكِي بِهِ زَنْدَ الْقِرَاءَةِ وَالْقِرَى
رَحْبُspacious الْجنَابِthe courtyard لِطَارقٍfor a night visitor أَوْor طَالِبِa seeker
رَحْبُ الْجنَابِ لِطَارقٍ أَوْ طَالِبِ
Where I kindle the firestick of reading and hospitality,
Ample in welcome to a night visitor or a seeker,
حَتَّىuntil أَلاَقيI meet اللهَGod لَمْnot تَصْرِفْنِيdivert me الthe
حَتَّى أَلاَقي اللهَ لَمْ تَصْرِفْنِي ال
أَوْهَامُfancies عَنْهُfrom Him بِشَاغِلٍthrough a distraction أَوْor شَاغِبٍa disturbance
أَوْهَامُ عَنْهُ بِشَاغِلٍ أَوْ شَاغِبٍ
Until I meet God, never turned aside
From Him by fancies through distraction or disturbance.
