بِاسْماعيلَ ثمّ أخيهِ قَيْسٍ
صَبِرُbitter aloe التصبُّرِpatient endurance منْamong أجَلِّthe finest عِلاجِهاits remedies
صَبِرُ التصبُّرِ منْ أجَلِّ عِلاجِها
By Ismail, then his brother Qays,
The bitter aloe of patient endurance is among its finest remedies.
دَمُblood الأخَوَيْنِthe two brothers دَوىhealed جُرْحَthe wound of قَلبيmy heart
دَمُ الأخَوَيْنِ دَوى جُرْحَ قَلبي
وعالَجَنيand treated me وحَسْبُكِand sufficient for you منْas عِلاجِa remedy
وعالَجَني وحَسْبُكِ منْ عِلاجِ
The two brothers’ blood healed my heart’s wound,
And treated me—what a remedy!
