Indeed, a sea from you has visited the island,
Indeed, a sea from you has visited the island,

It keeps giving, and we know no ebb from it.

Through your reign, you restored to it the age of Moses,
Through your reign, you restored to it the age of Moses,
your namesake; thus it recites a remembrance of him.
Your namesake—so it recites his story.

You raised its wall and bestowed a treasure,
You raised its wall and bestowed a treasure,
though, had you wished, you could have taken payment for it.
And had you wished, you could have taken payment for it.
