وَالْحُبُّ أَقْحَمَهُمْ عَلَى الأَهْوَالِ
Love stirred them to every dispute,
Love stirred them to every dispute,
and love drove them headlong against the terrors.
and love plunged them into terrors.

Love severed the bonds between them and led them astray
And love severed their ties and led them astray,
from attaining what they sought—utterly astray.
utterly away from attaining what they sought.

And love bred partisanship within them;
with hearsay and gossip, it set its fire ablaze.
with gossip and idle talk, it kindled its fire.
