لوْif لمْnot تكُنْbe فيin فُصولِseasons of العامِthe year حاضِرَةٌpresent
لوْ لمْ تكُنْ في فُصولِ العامِ حاضِرَةٌ
بهِنّwith them تُتْحَفُare regaled أبْصارٌeyes وأسْماعُand ears
بهِنّ تُتْحَفُ أبْصارٌ وأسْماعُ
Were they not present in the seasons of the year,
regaling eyes and ears,
لقُلْتُI would say ورْدٌroses منَfrom الأيْديthe hands لَهاfor them شجَرٌtrees
لقُلْتُ ورْدٌ منَ الأيْدي لَها شجَرٌ
ومنand from أنامِلِهنّtheir fingertips الخَمْسُthe five أقْماعُcalyxes
ومن أنامِلِهنّ الخَمْسُ أقْماعُ
I would say: roses, with hands for their trees,
and their five fingertips for calyxes.
