وَالنُّجْحُand success مَاwhat is بَيْنَbetween مَضْمُونٍassured وَمَرْقُوبِand awaited
I complain to the nobles among the sons of Jacob.
And success lies between what is assured and what is awaited.
زَرَعْتًI sowed عُرْقْوبَthe ridge of أَرْضِيmy land مِنْsome of شَعِيرِكُمْyour barley
جَاءَcame الْجَرَادُthe locusts فَأَفْنَىand so destroyed زَرْعَthe crop of عُرْقُوبِيmy ridge
I sowed the ridge of my land with some of your barley.
The locusts came and wiped out my ridge’s crop.
