عندَat رأسِthe head of المَزادِthe auction عادَنيvisited me السُّهْدُsleeplessness
عندَ رأسِ المَزادِ عادَني السُّهْدُ
ولمْand did not تُغْنِavail حيلَتيmy resourcefulness واجْتِهاديand my efforts
ولمْ تُغْنِ حيلَتي واجْتِهادي
At Ra’s al-Mazad, sleeplessness visited me;
and neither my resourcefulness nor my efforts availed.
حسْبِيَsufficient for me اللهُGod كيْفَhow يَبْراbe cured سَريعاًquickly
حسْبِيَ اللهُ كيْفَ يَبْرا سَريعاً
سهَرٌsleeplessness عنْarising from صُداعِthe headache of رأسِthe head of الَمزادِthe auction
سهَرٌ عنْ صُداعِ رأسِ الَمزادِ
God suffices me! How can it quickly be cured—
sleeplessness caused by the headache of Ra’s al-Mazad?
