مَع جهْلِ وعْدِ اللهِ أو لُقْياهُ
By God, if my life were in my hands,
By God, if my life were in my hands
Even knowing nothing of God's promise or of meeting Him,
Along with ignorance of God's promise or meeting Him

إنْسانِ مَطْعمَهُ ولا سُقْياهُ
In a life of ease, owing no debt of gratitude to any
In lowly living where no man is obliged
Person for its food or drink,
To provide one's food and drink

This world, so full of harm, would not be
This injurious, crowded world
Among the things a sensible person hopes will endure.
Would not be what a rational one hopes for its remainder
