لُمْ في الهَوى العُذْرِيّ أوْ لا تَلُمِ

لُمْ في الهَوى العُذْرِيّ أوْ لا تَلُمِ

فالعَذْلُ لا يدْخُلُ أسْماعِي

فالعَذْلُ لا يدْخُلُ أسْماعِي

Blame me for chaste love, or do not blame me.

Blame me or don't for my innocent love,

For reproach does not reach my ears.

For blame does not reach my hearing.

شأنُكَ تعْنِيفي وشأنِي الهَوى

شأنُكَ تعْنِيفي وشأنِي الهَوى

كُلُّ امْرِئٍ في شأنِهِ ساعِي

كُلُّ امْرِئٍ في شأنِهِ ساعِي

Your concern is rebuking me; my concern is love.

It is your way to chastise me, and my way is love,

Each person pursues his own concern.

Each person is busy with their own affair.
