Behold our star peering out:
It watches over the stars, opening its arched windows wide.
وكأنّماand as though خافَfeared العُيونَthe eyes إذاwhen رَنَتthey gazed
كالغادَةِlike the maiden الحَسْناءِthe beautiful صانَتْshielded خدَّهاher cheek
And as though it feared eyes when they gazed,
Like a beautiful maiden who shielded her cheek
بالكُمِّwith the sleeve عنْfrom جَفْنٍan eyelid إلَيْهاtoward her ناظِرِgazing

With her sleeve from an eye gazing toward her,
It lowered its eyelids out of piety—and so does
مَنْwhoever خافَfeared أنْto يُدْعىbe called بجارٍas a neighbor جائِرِunjust
Whoever fears being called an unjust neighbor.
