يا وَليَّ الإلاهِ أنتَ جَوادٌ

يا وَليَّ الإلاهِ أنتَ جَوادٌ

وقَصدنا الى حِماكَ المَنيعِ

وقَصدنا الى حِماكَ المَنيعِ

O friend of God, you are generous.

And we have made our way to your impregnable sanctuary.

راعَنا الدّهْرُ بالخُطوبِ فجِئْنا

راعَنا الدّهْرُ بالخُطوبِ فجِئْنا

نَرْتَجي منْ عُلاكَ حُسْنَ الصّنيعِ

نَرْتَجي منْ عُلاكَ حُسْنَ الصّنيعِ

Time has frightened us with calamities, so we have come

Hoping for kind treatment from your exalted station.

فمدَدْنا لكَ الأكُفَّ نُرَجّي

فمدَدْنا لكَ الأكُفَّ نُرَجّي

عَوْدَةَ العِزِّ تحْتَ شمْلٍ جَميعِ

عَوْدَةَ العِزِّ تحْتَ شمْلٍ جَميعِ

So we have stretched out our palms to you, hoping

For glory's return within a united community.

قد جعَلْنا وسيلَةً تُرْبَكَ الزّا

قد جعَلْنا وسيلَةً تُرْبَكَ الزّا

كِي زُلْفى إلى العَليمِ السّميعِ

كِي زُلْفى إلى العَليمِ السّميعِ

We have made your pure soil a means

Of drawing near to the All-Knowing, the All-Hearing.

كمْ غَريبٍ أسْرَى إليْكَ فَوافَى

كمْ غَريبٍ أسْرَى إليْكَ فَوافَى

برِضىً عاجِلٍ وخَيْرٍ سَريعِ

برِضىً عاجِلٍ وخَيْرٍ سَريعِ

How many a stranger has journeyed to you by night and found

Immediate satisfaction and swift good fortune!
