إذاif صرَفْتَyou turn نحْوَtoward وجْهٍa face حسَنٍbeautiful
طَرْفَكَyour gaze واسْتَهْواكَand lures you للحِينِto doom الطّمعْdesire
If toward a beautiful face you turn
your gaze, and desire lures you to your doom,
فلاthen do not تُمِلْincline قلْبَكَyour heart ماas much as اسْطَعْتَyou can لهُtoward it
فالقَلْبُfor the heart كالحائِطِlike a wall إنْif مالَit leans وقَعْit falls
then, as best you can, do not let your heart lean toward it;
for the heart is like a wall: if it leans, it falls.
