حَلَفْتَyou swore لَهُمْto them بِأَنَّكَthat you are ذُوpossessed of يَسَارٍwealth
وَذُوand possessed of ثِقَةٍtrustworthiness وَبِرٍّand faithfulness بِالْيَمِينِto the oath
You swore to them that you were wealthy,
You swore to them that you were generous, trustworthy and honest
And trustworthy and true to your oath,
So that they would entrust their wealth to you for safekeeping
لِيَسْتَنِدُواso that they might rely إِلَيْكَon you بِحِفْظِfor safeguarding مَالٍmoney
فَتَأْكُلُthen you devour بِالْيَسَارِwith the left hand وَبِالْيَمِينِand with the right hand
So they would rely on you to safeguard money,
Yet you consume it with both hands
Then you devour it with your left hand and your right.
