    Long-established glory and pride are rightfully mine.

    And land and sea acknowledge a distinction you have won.

    I am the auspicious rising-place, and the sphere in which

    The radiant sun and the full moon meet.

    A mount of success, with good fortune for its saddlecloth,

    And inlaid pearls and gold for its adornment.

    ولوْ كُنْتُ أنْوي السّيْرَ ما كان لي عُذْرُ

    I stand still, yet my kinship is with creatures that have legs;

    And if I intended to leave, I would have no excuse.

    Would I leave the abode of happiness and contentment,

    When my adornment is supreme and the palace is my realm?

    Eyes delight in the sight of me when there appear

    The marvels of my forms, and the heart is gladdened.

    I have donned a robe of precious gold,

    And risen to a station above the radiant stars.

    وهَيْهات يُحْصى الرّمْلُ أو يُحْصَرُ القَطْرُ

    Every praiser falls short of singing its praises;

    And never can the sand be counted or the raindrops numbered.
