رَأَيْتُ بِمَخْدُومِي انْتِفَاخاً فَرَابَنِي

رَأَيْتُ بِمَخْدُومِي انْتِفَاخاً فَرَابَنِي

وَبَادَرْتُ دُكَّانَ الطَّبيبِ كَمَا وَجَبْ

وَبَادَرْتُ دُكَّانَ الطَّبيبِ كَمَا وَجَبْ

I saw a swelling in my patron, and it alarmed me.

And I hastened to the physician’s shop, as duty required.

فَقَالَ وَقَاكَ اللهُ فِيهِ فَلاَ تَخَفْ

فَقَالَ وَقَاكَ اللهُ فِيهِ فَلاَ تَخَفْ

عَلَيْهِ فَهَذَا النَّفْخُ لَيْسَ لَهْ سَبَبْ

عَلَيْهِ فَهَذَا النَّفْخُ لَيْسَ لَهْ سَبَبْ

He said, “May God preserve him for you; do not fear

for him, for this puffing-up has no cause.”
