رَعْياً لِمَا أَوْلَيتَ مِنْ إِحْسَانِ
Love has devoted my tongue to your praise,
Love stood still on the tip of my tongue
In recognition of the kindness you have bestowed.
To graze on the kindness you have bestowed
فَكَأَنَّمَاso it is as though شُكْرِيmy gratitude لِمَاfor what أَوْلَيْتَهُyou bestowed it

شُكْرُ الرِّيَاضِ لِعَارِض النيسَانِ
Thus my gratitude for what you have bestowed is like
So my gratitude for your benevolence
The gardens' gratitude to April's rain cloud.
Is like the garden’s thanks for April’s showers

The horseman champion of the arena

A trait no other human equals

Your good fortunes progressed upright
And rose, so the two ill-omened stars fled before them.
As sorrows fled before their advance
