وَالْكَوْنُand the universe أَشْرَاكُsnares نُفُوسِsouls of الْوَرَىhumankind
وَالْكَوْنُ أَشْرَاكُ نُفُوسِ الْوَرَى
طُوبَىblessedness لِنَفْسٍfor a soul حُرَّةٍfree فَازَتْit triumphed
طُوبَى لِنَفْسٍ حُرَّةٍ فَازَتْ
And the universe is snares for the souls of humankind.
Blessed is a free soul that has triumphed.
لَمْdid not تَحُزْattain مَعْرِفَةَknowledge of اللَّهِGod قَدْalready
لَمْ تَحُزْ مَعْرِفَةَ اللَّهِ قَدْ
أَوْرَطَهَاentangled it الشَّيْءُthe thing الْذِيthat حَازَتْit acquired
أَوْرَطَهَا الشَّيْءُ الْذِي حَازَتْ
No soul has attained knowledge of God while already
ensnared by what it has acquired.
