مَرَرْتُI passed بِالْعُشَّاقِby the lovers قَدْhad كَبَّرُواproclaimed God's greatness
مَرَرْتُ بِالْعُشَّاقِ قَدْ كَبَّرُوا
وَكَانَand there was بِالْقُرْبِnearby صَبِيُّa boy كَرِيمْnoble
وَكَانَ بِالْقُرْبِ صَبِيُّ كَرِيمْ
I passed by the lovers, who had cried, “God is greatest!”
I passed by the lovers, they had grown old
And nearby was a noble boy.
And nearby was a generous boy
فَقُلْتُso I said مَاwhat بَالُهُمُis the matter with them قَالَhe said لِيto me
فَقُلْتُ مَا بَالُهُمُ قَالَ لِي
أُلْقِيَwas delivered لِلْحُبِّto Love كِتَابٌa letter كَريمْnoble
أُلْقِيَ لِلْحُبِّ كِتَابٌ كَريمْ
So I said, “What is the matter with them?” He said to me:
I said: “What is with them?” He said to me:
“A noble letter has been delivered to Love.”
“A generous book about love was composed”
