لشَتّىbecause of various هُمومٍcares منْهُfrom it فِكْريَmy mind يُحْييهاkeeps them alive
The revolving sphere has kept my eyelid from slumber,
The revolving celestial sphere has robbed my eyes of sleep
for the varied cares arising from it, which my mind keeps alive.
With diverse cares that my thoughts revive
أراهُI see it رَحَىa grindstone قَيْنٍa smith وعُمْريَand my life صَفْحَةٌa sheet of metal

I see it as a smith's grindstone, and my life as a sheet of metal;
I see it as Cain's mill, and my life a page
it passes over it with each revolution, and so wears it away.
On which it ceaselessly turns, thus to destroy
