أَرْسَلْتُI sent عَيْنِيmy eye فِيinto حُلاَكَyour beauty بِنَظْرَةٍwith a glance
أَرْسَلْتُ عَيْنِي فِي حُلاَكَ بِنَظْرَةٍ
هِيَit كَانِتِwas السَّبَبَthe cause الْقَرِيبَthe immediate لِمَاof what بِيafflicts me
هِيَ كَانِتِ السَّبَبَ الْقَرِيبَ لِمَا بِي
I sent my eye into your beauty with a glance.
It was the immediate cause of what ails me.
وَأَرَاكَand I see you بِالْعَبَراتِwith tears قَدْindeed عَاقَبْتَهَاyou have punished it
وَأَرَاكَ بِالْعَبَراتِ قَدْ عَاقَبْتَهَا
لَيْسَis not الرَّسُولُthe messenger بِمَوْضَعِin a fitting position لِعِقَابِfor punishment
لَيْسَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَوْضَعِ لِعِقَابِ
And I see that you have punished it with tears.
The messenger is no fitting target for punishment.
