أمَسْعودُ بنُ يوسُفَ طيْرُ قَلْبي

أمَسْعودُ بنُ يوسُفَ طيْرُ قَلْبي

علَى شجَرِ الكِرامِ لهُ وُقوعُ

علَى شجَرِ الكِرامِ لهُ وُقوعُ

O Mas'ud son of Yusuf, the bird of my heart

Amr ibn Yusuf is the bird of my heart

alights upon the trees of the noble.

Perching on the tree of generosity

وفي عَلْياكَ لي كنْزُ اعْتِقادٍ

وفي عَلْياكَ لي كنْزُ اعْتِقادٍ

علَى أمْثالِهِ تُطْوَى الضُّلوعُ

علَى أمْثالِهِ تُطْوَى الضُّلوعُ

And in your eminence I have a treasure of faith;

And in serving you I have a treasure of faith

around treasures like it the ribs are folded.

For the likes of you ribs are bent

إذا نفْسُ امْرِئٍ ولِعَتْ بمَغْنى

إذا نفْسُ امْرِئٍ ولِعَتْ بمَغْنى

فَما بسِوى كمالِكَ لي وُلوعُ

فَما بسِوى كمالِكَ لي وُلوعُ

If a man's soul becomes enamored of a dwelling,

When a man's soul is possessed by yearning

then I am enamored of nothing but your perfection.

Then for none but you yearns my fervor
