يَاO مَنْyou who دَعَانِيcalled me إِلَىto رَفْدٍa gift يَجُودُgives generously بِهِwith it الْthe
يَا مَنْ دَعَانِي إِلَى رَفْدٍ يَجُودُ بِهِ الْ
غَنِيُّrich باللهِthrough God مُؤْتَمّاًfollowing بِمَذْهَبِهِin his way
غَنِيُّ باللهِ مُؤْتَمّاً بِمَذْهَبِهِ
O you who called me to a gift generously bestowed by al-
O you who called me to aid, with which the wealthy are generous
Ghani bi-llah, as you follow his way:
By Allah, filled with His doctrine
حَاشَاfar be it وَكَلاَّand certainly not لِمِثْلِيfor one like me يَاO صَدِيقِيmy friend أَنْto
حَاشَا وَكَلاَّ لِمِثْلِي يَا صَدِيقِي أَنْ
يَنْسَىforget الْغَنِيَّthe Self-Sufficient وَيَسْتَجْدِيand beg from الْغَنِيّthe rich one بِهِthrough Him
يَنْسَى الْغَنِيَّ وَيَسْتَجْدِي الْغَنِيّ بِهِ
Far be it—certainly not, my friend—for one like me to
Never! For one like me, my friend, to forget the Generous
forget the Self-Sufficient and beg from one who is rich through Him.
And beg from Him who is made wealthy by Him
