بلدٌa town يحُفُّsurrounds بهِaround it الرّياضُthe gardens كأنهُas though it were
بلدٌ يحُفُّ بهِ الرّياضُ كأنهُ
وجْهٌa face جَميلٌbeautiful والرّياضُand the gardens عِذارُهُits sideburns
وجْهٌ جَميلٌ والرّياضُ عِذارُهُ
A town encircled by gardens, as though it were
a beautiful face, and the gardens its sideburns.
وكأنّماand as though واديهِits river معْصَمُwrist غادَةٍa graceful maiden
وكأنّما واديهِ معْصَمُ غادَةٍ
ومنَand from الجُسورِthe bridges المُحْكَماتِsolidly built سِوارُهُits bracelet
ومنَ الجُسورِ المُحْكَماتِ سِوارُهُ
And its river is like a graceful maiden’s wrist,
and its bracelet is made of solidly built bridges.
