مَضْجَعي فيكَ عنْ قُتادَةٍ يرْوي

مَضْجَعي فيكَ عنْ قُتادَةٍ يرْوي

ورَوى عنْ أبي الزِّنادِ فؤادي

ورَوى عنْ أبي الزِّنادِ فؤادي

My bed, because of you, narrates on the authority of Qatadah;

My bed in you tells of Qatadah

And my heart has narrated on the authority of Abu al-Zinad.

And my heart tells of Abi al-Zinad

وكَذا النوْمُ شاعِرٌ فيكَ أمْسى

وكَذا النوْمُ شاعِرٌ فيكَ أمْسى

منْ دُموعي يَهيمُ في كلِّ وادي

منْ دُموعي يَهيمُ في كلِّ وادي

Likewise, because of you, sleep has become a poet,

And so is sleep a poet in you last night

Wandering in every valley because of my tears.

Roaming with my tears in every valley
