أَمُصعَبُO Mus'ab قدindeed نَجَوتَyou escaped مِنَfrom الأعادىthe foes
ولمand did not تُصبحyou be at dawn بِمُعتَرَكٍon a battlefield قتيلاslain
O Mus'ab, you have indeed escaped the foes,
Musaab, you have escaped from the enemies
and did not lie slain at dawn on a battlefield.
And did not end up a corpse in battle.
ثَأَرتَyou avenged مُزَاحِماًMuzahim وسَرَرتَand you gladdened قَيساًQays
وكُنتَand you were لِمَاin whatever هَمَمتَyou resolved بِهupon it فَعولاa resolute doer
You avenged Muzahim and gladdened Qays,
You took revenge on the intruder and brought joy to Qais,
and carried out whatever you resolved upon.
And you accomplished what you intended.
دعوتُI called بأَكلُبٍupon Aklub ودَعَوتَand you called قَيساًQays
فلاso neither كُشُفاًshieldless men دَعَوتَyou summoned ولاnor قليلاa small number
I called upon Aklub, and you called upon Qays;
I called on the dogs while you called on Qais -
so you summoned neither shieldless men nor a scant few.
You did not call in vain or just a little.
ونادىand called مُصعَبٌMus'ab قيساًQays فجاءتso they came
ونادَيتُand I called المُرَجّىthe hoped-for one والخَذولاand the deserter
And Mus'ab called Qays, so they came;
And Musaab called Qais, so they came,
while I called on the hoped-for helper and the deserter.
While I called on the reluctant and hesitant.

May his two hands never be paralyzed, nor ever cease
May their hands not weaken or cease
winning spoils and plentiful bounty.
To reap plentiful spoils and bounty.

And had the son of Abd Allah been alive,
If the son of Abdullah were alive,
he would have raided Salul at dawn in their dwellings.
He would spend his mornings raiding them.
