My two friends, take me to visit Umaymah, and clear

my sight with her, or lift an overwhelming sorrow [from] my heart.

And if you do not take me to visit Umaymah, you will know

tomorrow morning that in me you have no brother.

Ah, you two sandgrouse of the lote tree by the water, carry word

to Umaymah from me, and remember her words for me.

By this sign: you will not be barred, though the cause

of my exclusion, and my longings for her, remain unchanged.
