وَإِنَّand indeed لِساناًa tongue لَمdid not تُعِنهُaid it لبَابَةٌsound judgment
وَإِنَّ لِساناً لَم تُعِنهُ لبَابَةٌ
كَحَاطِبِlike a wood-gatherer لَيلٍnight يَجمَعُgathers الرَّذلُthe worthless حاطِبُهits wood-gatherer
كَحَاطِبِ لَيلٍ يَجمَعُ الرَّذلُ حاطِبُه
And indeed, a tongue unaided by sound judgment
is like a wood-gatherer by night who gathers worthless wood.
