Allah—exalted is Allah beyond all attribution of a 'how'.

Sole in sovereignty and the ordering of affairs.

عن قول أهل الزيغ والتزييف

عن قول أهل الزيغ والتزييف

A King, all-powerful, One, transcendent,

Above the words of those who stray and falsify.

خص الرجال بدنوه وشهوده

خص الرجال بدنوه وشهوده

وبسره والفضل والمعروف

وبسره والفضل والمعروف

He favored the men with nearness to Him and beholding Him,

And with His secret, bounty, and kindness.

فتبادروا وتسارعوا في حبه

فتبادروا وتسارعوا في حبه

ووفوا بحق الأمر والتكليف

ووفوا بحق الأمر والتكليف

So they hastened and vied with one another in loving Him,

And duly fulfilled the command and the obligations laid upon them.

فاقتد بهم إن كنت عبداً صابراً

فاقتد بهم إن كنت عبداً صابراً

وتحب أن تدعي باسم الصوفي

وتحب أن تدعي باسم الصوفي

So follow their example, if you are a patient servant,

And wish to be called a Sufi.
