العبد قد بناه

العبد قد بناه

للَه من عطاه

للَه من عطاه

The servant has built it

for God, from His bounty.

والعبد ليس يملك

والعبد ليس يملك

شيئاً من مولاه

شيئاً من مولاه

And the servant does not own

anything of his Master's.

يا ربنا تقبل

يا ربنا تقبل

منه وكن معاه

منه وكن معاه

O our Lord, accept

it from him, and be with him.

وكن به لطيفاً

وكن به لطيفاً

واغفر له خطاه

واغفر له خطاه

And be gentle with him,

and forgive him his faults.

والمسجد المبارك

والمسجد المبارك

قد أرخوا بناه

قد أرخوا بناه

And the blessed mosque—

its construction was dated

أحبةً كرام

أحبةً كرام

وبالمليح فاهوا

وبالمليح فاهوا

by noble, dear friends,

who spoke fine words.

وخير كل شيءٍ

وخير كل شيءٍ

قولوا ومنتقاه

قولوا ومنتقاه

And the best of everything,

and its choicest—say it—

ما قاله وجيه

ما قاله وجيه

ثناؤه دعاه

ثناؤه دعاه

is what Wajih said;

his praise is his prayer.

قولوا ونحن نرجو

قولوا ونحن نرجو

نطلب به رضاه

نطلب به رضاه

Say it, while we hope,

seeking through it His pleasure:

يا رحمة المهين

يا رحمة المهين

بلى له ثراه

بلى له ثراه

O mercy for the lowly one,

moisten his earth for him [reading uncertain].

ويا كريم يا رب

ويا كريم يا رب

أحسن له جزاه

أحسن له جزاه

And O Generous One, O Lord,

make his reward a good one,

وللجميع منهم

وللجميع منهم

فإنهم أشباه

فإنهم أشباه

and for all of them,

for they are alike.

وقد نووا وقالوا

وقد نووا وقالوا

مثل الذي نواه

مثل الذي نواه

And indeed, they intended and said

the same as he intended.

عسى عسى عسى اللَه

عسى عسى عسى اللَه

فالكل في رجاه

فالكل في رجاه

May it be, may it be—may God grant it!

For all hope in Him,

والكل في فناه

والكل في فناه

وما لنا سواه

وما لنا سواه

and all are in His courtyard,

and we have none but Him.

ثم الصلاة منه

ثم الصلاة منه

تخص مصطفاه

تخص مصطفاه

Then may blessings from Him

be especially for His Chosen One,

وآله وصحبه

وآله وصحبه

وكل من والاه

وكل من والاه

and his family and his Companions,

and everyone loyal to him.
