Hail, O abode of loved ones,

On the lower slope of the valley of lote trees,

And arak trees, date palms, and grasses,

    And udders, crops, and fruit,

And graceful, shy maidens, alike in age,

Restraining their gaze in secluded chambers,

And lords, leaders of noble birth,

    Exalted in rank and renown.

O valley of solace and mercy,

And light, goodness, and gracious favors,

    And sermons, ease, and blessing,

    Home of the noble lords,

May it ever remain shaded by clouds,

    Moistened by the rain-cloud's downpour,

    Green with crops and grass,

Delighting the soul and the beholder,

    Filled with knowledge and refinement,

    And justice, righteousness, and gratitude.

Each one beguiled by worldly means,

    Devoid of truth and patience.

Through your forefather and through you are dispelled

The clouds of affliction and harm.
