أبو بكر سر في طريق اللَه رب العباد

الواحد الماجد الفرد الكريم الجواد

Abu Bakr, walk the path of God, Lord of His servants,

Abu Bakr walked the path of Allah, Lord of all creation

The One, the Glorious, the Unique, the Generous, the Bountiful.

The One, Majestic, Unique, Generous, Bountiful

وازهد لك الخير في دار الفنا والنفاد

وازهد لك الخير في دار الفنا والنفاد

دنيا دنيه حقيره كلها أنكاد

دنيا دنيه حقيره كلها أنكاد

And renounce the abode of transience and depletion—may goodness be yours.

And I advise you to do good in the abode of decay and ruin

A base, contemptible world, all of it misery.

This lowly, worthless world is full of misery

فيها المكدر والبلايا والمحن في ازدياد

فيها المكدر والبلايا والمحن في ازدياد

وكل من حب دنيا السوء ما له رشاد

وكل من حب دنيا السوء ما له رشاد

In it, vexation, calamities, and trials keep increasing.

In it is grief, afflictions, and troubles ever-increasing

And whoever loves this evil world has no right guidance,

And whoever loves this evil world has no guidance

ولا بصيره ولا رهبه بيوم المعاد

ولا بصيره ولا رهبه بيوم المعاد

وكل من يتقي الرحمن يعطي المراد

وكل من يتقي الرحمن يعطي المراد

Nor insight, nor fear of the Day of Return.

No insight, no fear of the Day of Judgment

And whoever fears the All-Merciful is granted what he desires.

But whoever fears the Merciful, attains all desires

بنجو من الشر في الدنيا ويوم التناد

بنجو من الشر في الدنيا ويوم التناد

من كل زاده من التقوى حوى خير زاد

من كل زاده من التقوى حوى خير زاد

He escapes evil in this world and on the Day of Mutual Calling.

Saved from evil in this world and on the Day of Assembly

He whose whole provision comes from piety has gained the best provision.

Whoever stores provisions of piety has the best supplies

ومن يحافظ على فرض الصلاة استفاد

ومن يحافظ على فرض الصلاة استفاد

ومن يضيع صلاته راح في شرواد

ومن يضيع صلاته راح في شرواد

And whoever faithfully observes obligatory prayer has benefited.

And whoever upholds the prayer duty benefits

And whoever neglects his prayer goes wandering astray.

While whoever neglects his prayers goes astray

ومن يحافظ على فرض الزكاة استجاد

ومن يحافظ على فرض الزكاة استجاد

وصار ماله محصن من جميع الفساد

وصار ماله محصن من جميع الفساد

And whoever faithfully observes obligatory almsgiving has done well.

Whoever gives the alms duty succeeds

And his wealth becomes safeguarded against all ruin.

His wealth protected from all corruption

واتل القرآن كلام الرب رائح وغاد

واتل القرآن كلام الرب رائح وغاد

وفي الدياجي إذا الغافل غرق في الرقاد

وفي الدياجي إذا الغافل غرق في الرقاد

And recite the Qur'an, the Lord's word, evening and morning,

Recite the Quran, words of the Nourisher, fragrant and delightful

And in the dark of night, when the heedless one is drowned in sleep.

In the darkness when the heedless sleep

ولازم الذكر فهو الركن وهو العماد

ولازم الذكر فهو الركن وهو العماد

نور السرائر وراح الروح أنس الفؤاد

نور السرائر وراح الروح أنس الفؤاد

And hold fast to remembrance, for it is the cornerstone and the pillar:

Persevere in remembrance, the pillar and foundation

The light of inmost hearts, the spirit's wine, the heart's solace.

Light of hearts, comfort of spirits, intimacy of souls

وقف على باب ربك واستغث به وناد

وقف على باب ربك واستغث به وناد

وادعه وسل منه حسن لعاقبة والسداد

وادعه وسل منه حسن لعاقبة والسداد

And stand at your Lord's door, seek His aid, and call out.

Stand at your Lord's door, cry out to Him for help

And call upon Him; ask Him for a good end and right conduct,

Beseech Him, ask from Him a good outcome and guidance

والختم بالخير والتثبيت عند الحصاد

والختم بالخير والتثبيت عند الحصاد

تمت وصلوا على غوث الورى في المعاد

تمت وصلوا على غوث الورى في المعاد

And an ending in goodness, and steadfastness at the harvest.

And a good end, steadfastness at the time of harvest

It is complete; send blessings upon humankind's rescuer at the Return,

It is done, send blessings upon the Savior of mankind in the hereafter

ما انهل غيث وأسقى كل حاضر وباد

ما انهل غيث وأسقى كل حاضر وباد

وكل رفاع ونازل في الربا والوهاد

وكل رفاع ونازل في الربا والوهاد

As long as rain pours down and waters every settled dweller and nomad,

No rain fell, quenching all settled and nomad

And everyone high or low, among the hills and hollows.

High and low, in the meadows and mountains

بسريس فاتلوها وقولوا عواد

بسريس فاتلوها وقولوا عواد

عواد يا رحمة الرب الكريم الجواد

عواد يا رحمة الرب الكريم الجواد

By the secret of Ya Sin, recite it and say, 'Return!'

In Sirays, recite it and say pleas

Return, O mercy of the Generous, Bountiful Lord!
