Peace upon our brothers and the loved ones.

Greetings to our brothers and loved ones

Peace as gentle as the breaths of the east wind,

Greetings as gentle as the morning breeze

وكالمسك نشراً إذ يمر بطيبة

وكالمسك نشراً إذ يمر بطيبة

نسيمات وادي المنحنى حي هبت

نسيمات وادي المنحنى حي هبت

And musk-like in fragrance, as through Taybah waft

And as soothing as musk when it passes by a sweet place

The breezes of Wadi al-Munhana when they blow.

The breezes that blow through the winding valley when they blow

سلام على الأحباب أنّي تباعدت

سلام على الأحباب أنّي تباعدت

منازلهم عنا فعن غير جفوة

منازلهم عنا فعن غير جفوة

Peace upon the loved ones, however far away

Greetings to the loved ones, though I am distant

Their dwellings are from us—not out of estrangement.

From their dwellings, not out of dislike

فإن لهم في القلب ذكر وموضعاً

فإن لهم في القلب ذكر وموضعاً

وهم نصب عين القلب في كل حالة

وهم نصب عين القلب في كل حالة

For they have remembrance and a place in the heart,

For they have a place in my heart and memory

And stand before the eye of the heart in every state.

They are before my mind’s eye at all times

إذ اذكرت أوقات وصل تصرمت

إذ اذكرت أوقات وصل تصرمت

لنا بربا نجد وأوطان طيبة

لنا بربا نجد وأوطان طيبة

When I recalled times of union that had passed

When I recall the times of connection in Dera

For us on Najd's heights and in the homelands of Taybah,

We had vast open lands and pleasant homelands

ومجتمع الأحباب في كل مربع

ومجتمع الأحباب في كل مربع

بأسمار أنس من حديث الصبابة

بأسمار أنس من حديث الصبابة

And the gathering of loved ones in every spring encampment,

And a gathering of loved ones in every square

With intimate evening conversations of ardent love,

With joys of companionship and youthful chatter

بكت عين قلبي بالدموع وبالدما

بكت عين قلبي بالدموع وبالدما

فواحسرتي حتى أموت بحسرتي

فواحسرتي حتى أموت بحسرتي

The eye of my heart wept tears and blood.

My heart's eye wept with tears and blood

Alas for my sorrow, until I die of my sorrow!

Oh my regret until I die of my regret

ووالهفي يا حزن قلبي ولوعتي

ووالهفي يا حزن قلبي ولوعتي

على جيرة من خير عرب وجيرة

على جيرة من خير عرب وجيرة

And alas for my longing! O my heart's sorrow and anguish

Oh my longing, the sorrow and pain in my heart

For neighbors among the finest of Arabs and neighbors.

For the best of neighbors, the best of Arabs as neighbors

ولي أمل في معشر وبقية

ولي أمل في معشر وبقية

حباهم إله العالمين بنظرة

حباهم إله العالمين بنظرة

And I have hope in a company and a surviving remnant,

And I have hope in some remaining company

Whom the God of all worlds favored with a glance,

God has blessed them with his gaze

وخصصهم بالقرب منه وبالرضا

وخصصهم بالقرب منه وبالرضا

وبالنور والفتح المبين ورحمة

وبالنور والفتح المبين ورحمة

And singled out for nearness to Him and His good pleasure,

And drawn them near, pleased with them

And for light, manifest spiritual opening, and mercy.

And given them light, clear success, and mercy

وخص صفي الدين منهم بفضله

وخص صفي الدين منهم بفضله

زيادة إحسان وألطاف رأفة

زيادة إحسان وألطاف رأفة

And among them He singled out Safi al-Din with His bounty:

And singled out the best of faith from them with his bounty

An increase of kindness and gentle favors of compassion.

Additional kindness and gentle affection

سليل الشيوخ العارفين معادن السرا

سليل الشيوخ العارفين معادن السرا

ئر والعرفان أهل الولاية

ئر والعرفان أهل الولاية

Scion of the gnostic shaykhs, repositories of secrets

Descendants of shaykhs of gnosis, mines of mysteries and mystic knowledge, the people of sainthood

And spiritual knowledge, the people of sainthood.

We have from them excellent prayer and strong ties

لنا منهم نعم الصلاة ومحكم ال

لنا منهم نعم الصلاة ومحكم ال

روابط في أحكام علم الطريقة

روابط في أحكام علم الطريقة

From them we have blessings of prayer and the firm

In the rulings of the path’s knowledge

Bonds in the precepts of the knowledge of the Path.

And from them we took and drew out the ways of spiritual truths

وعنهم أخذنا واقتبسنا طرائق ال

وعنهم أخذنا واقتبسنا طرائق ال

حقائق عن صدق وصفو مودة

حقائق عن صدق وصفو مودة

And from them we received and gleaned the paths of the

With honesty, love, and friendship

Realities, through sincerity and pure affection.

So in truth, let us take the sciences of their path

فبالحق فلنأخذ علوم طريقهم

فبالحق فلنأخذ علوم طريقهم

يداً بيدٍ حتى مقام النبوة

يداً بيدٍ حتى مقام النبوة

So, in truth, let us receive the teachings of their path,

Hand in hand until the station of prophethood

Hand to hand, up to the station of prophethood.

Oh Ahmad of goodness and blessing, oh son named

فيا أحمد الخير المبارك يا ابن من

فيا أحمد الخير المبارك يا ابن من

سما بعلو القدر بين البرية

سما بعلو القدر بين البرية

So, O blessed Ahmad of goodness, O son of one who

With the highest honor among all people

Rose in lofty rank among all creation:

After Idares the secret beyond his chastity

فعن عيدروس السر بعد عفيفه

فعن عيدروس السر بعد عفيفه

إلى الشيخ قطب العارفين الأئمة

إلى الشيخ قطب العارفين الأئمة

Thus, from Aydarus of the secret, after his Afif,

To the shaykh master of the gnostics, the imams

To the shaykh, pole of the gnostic imams,

Ali son of Abu Baker Al Mulla, our imam

على بن أبي بكر الملاز إمامنا

على بن أبي بكر الملاز إمامنا

وعمدتنا في نقل علم الحقيقة

وعمدتنا في نقل علم الحقيقة

Ali ibn Abi Bakr, the refuge, our imam,

And pillar in conveying the knowledge of the Real

And our mainstay in transmitting the knowledge of Reality.

With your wondrous verses that you composed

بأبياتك الغر التي قد نظمتها

بأبياتك الغر التي قد نظمتها

تذكرت أياماً خلت للأحبة

تذكرت أياماً خلت للأحبة

Through your radiant verses, which you composed,

I recalled bygone days of loved ones

I recalled bygone days of the loved ones.

How much did you evoke for me of passions

وكم بعت لي من شجون وحركت

وكم بعت لي من شجون وحركت

كوامن أشواق بقلبي ومهجتي

كوامن أشواق بقلبي ومهجتي

And how many sorrows you sold me, and stirred

And awaken feelings in my heart and mind

Hidden longings in my heart and my soul.

May my God bless whenever the morning blows

وصلى إلهي كلما هبت الصبا

وصلى إلهي كلما هبت الصبا

على المصطفى الهادي وآل وعترة

على المصطفى الهادي وآل وعترة

And may my God send blessings whenever the east wind blows

The guide, Muhammad, and his family and progeny

Upon the Chosen One, the guide, and his family and descendants.
