1. أهلاً وسهلاً بالظبي الأغيد

    مكحل العينين وردي الخد

    A warm welcome to the graceful gazelle,

    Kohl-eyed and rosy-cheeked,

  2. عذب اللمى الدري رشيق القد

    وافى حمانا في الصباح الأسعد

    Sweet of dusky lips, pearl-bright, slender of form.

    He came to our haven on the most fortunate morning.

  3. فقلت خيم يا مليح يا زين

    وابشر فقد أصبحت قرة العين

    So I said: Pitch your tent, O lovely one, O beauty.

    And rejoice, for you have become the delight of my eyes.

  4. فلا تذقني مرارة البين

    والبعد منك يا غزال ثهمد

    So do not make me taste the bitterness of parting

    And of distance from you, O gazelle of Thahmad.

  5. ولا تعدي يا ظبى عيديد

    في ربعنا الوفا بالتأكيد

    And do not move on, O gazelle of Aydid;

    In our abode there is faithfulness, without doubt.

  6. ساعات وصلك كلها عيد

    وأنت لي في الغانيات مقصد

    Every hour of union with you is a feast day,

    And among the fair women, you are the one I seek.

  7. لما بدا لي وجهك المنور

    كأنه بدر التمام أسفر

    When your radiant face appeared to me,

    As though it were the full moon shining forth,

  8. أيقنت أن الشوس عني أدبر

    وأن عهد الأنس قد تجدد

    I knew for certain that adversity had turned away from me,

    And that the time of intimacy had been renewed.

  9. فالحمد للَه الذي تكرم

    ونفس الكربة وفرج الهم

    So praise be to God, who was gracious,

    And relieved distress and dispelled worry.

  10. وبعد صلي اللَه وسلم

    على النبي الهاشمي محمد

    And thereafter, may God send blessings and peace

    Upon the Hashimite Prophet Muhammad.
