سقى اللَه بشاراً بوابل رحمةٍ

سقى اللَه بشاراً بوابل رحمةٍ

يجود عليها بالصباح وبالمسا

يجود عليها بالصباح وبالمسا

May God water Bashar with a downpour of mercy,

May Allah shower Bashar with rains of mercy,

pouring generously upon it morning and evening—

Bestowing upon him blessings in the morn and eve,

مرابع أحباب الفؤاد ومن لهم

مرابع أحباب الفؤاد ومن لهم

به صدق ود في سرائره أرسى

به صدق ود في سرائره أرسى

the dwellings of the heart's beloveds, and of those for whom

Dear friends of my heart, and those who hold for them,

sincere love lies most firmly anchored in its hidden depths.

Sincerity and affection established in their conscience.

وحياهم الرحمن بالعفو والرضا

وحياهم الرحمن بالعفو والرضا

وأولاهم الإحسان والقرب والأنسا

وأولاهم الإحسان والقرب والأنسا

And may the All-Merciful greet them with pardon and favor,

May the Most Merciful greet them with forgiveness and pleasure,

and grant them kindness, nearness, and intimacy.

And grace them with kindness, nearness, and intimacy.

فثم أحيبابي وأهلي وسادتي

فثم أحيبابي وأهلي وسادتي

وأشياخنا المحسنون لنا غرسا

وأشياخنا المحسنون لنا غرسا

For there are my dear loved ones, my family, and my masters,

For they are my beloved, my family, and masters,

and our elders, who kindly planted for us

And our beneficent elders who planted for us seeds-

غرائس مجد في حقائق نسبة

غرائس مجد في حقائق نسبة

مطهرة سدنا بها الغير والجنسا

مطهرة سدنا بها الغير والجنسا

saplings of glory in the realities of a lineage

Seeds of glory in the essence of an immaculate lineage-

purified, through which we rose above others and our own kind.

Our fortress against foreigners and all other tribes.

ولا تنس ما بين القبور بزنبل

ولا تنس ما بين القبور بزنبل

لقبر بقلبي ذكره قط لا ينسى

لقبر بقلبي ذكره قط لا ينسى

And do not forget what lies among the graves at Zanbal:

And forget not what lies between the graves with thyme-

a grave indeed, whose memory in my heart is never forgotten.

A grave, the memory of which my heart shall never forget-

تضمن إلفاً صالحاً ومباركاً

تضمن إلفاً صالحاً ومباركاً

فأكرم به قبراً وأكرم به رمسا

فأكرم به قبراً وأكرم به رمسا

It has enfolded a dear companion, righteous and blessed;

Containing a righteous and blessed comradeship-

so, how noble a grave it is, and how noble a tomb!

With it I honored a grave, and with it adorned a headstone.

دفنت به من فيه روحي وراحتي

دفنت به من فيه روحي وراحتي

فعاد أغض العيش من بعده يبسا

فعاد أغض العيش من بعده يبسا

I buried in it the one in whom lay my soul and my comfort,

In it I buried she in whom lay my soul and comfort,

so life at its freshest turned dry after him.

So life after her demise became but withered and arid.

فيا رحمة الرحمن زوريه وأحللي

فيا رحمة الرحمن زوريه وأحللي

على قبره حتى تطيب له نفسا

على قبره حتى تطيب له نفسا

So, O mercy of the All-Merciful, visit him and settle

O Mercy of the Merciful! Visit it, and make permissible

upon his grave until his soul is gladdened.

Upon her grave, so her soul may be content.

وحييه عنا بالسلام وروحي

وحييه عنا بالسلام وروحي

بروح الرضا والقرب معناه والحسا

بروح الرضا والقرب معناه والحسا

And greet him on our behalf with peace, and refresh

Greet her on my behalf with peace, and my soul

his inner being and his senses with the breath of favor and nearness.

With the spirit of acceptance, affection, and sensibility.

وقولي له أنا على العهد والوفا

وقولي له أنا على العهد والوفا

وإن الفنا قد عمم الجن والإنسا

وإن الفنا قد عمم الجن والإنسا

And tell him that we remain true to the covenant and faithful,

And tell her that I keep to my vow and loyalty,

and indeed mortality has encompassed jinn and humankind.

Though annihilation has encompassed mankind and jinn.

ومن ذا الذي يرجو البقا بعد أحمد

ومن ذا الذي يرجو البقا بعد أحمد

نبي الهدى من نوره يخجل الشمسا

نبي الهدى من نوره يخجل الشمسا

And who could hope to live forever after Ahmad,

And who is there that hopes for survival after Ahmad-

the Prophet of guidance, whose light puts the sun to shame?

The Prophet of guidance, whose light shames even the sun?
